        Electrification and Water Supply

            Project Dalifage Hospital

Dalifage is the capital city of Zone 5. The Hospital of Dalifaage is the Referral Hospital Centre for residents of the area except for Hada le Ela and Komami districts because of their long distances location.

The Hospital of Dalifage is new one that built with Fund from the World Bank. It is supplied with electricity by a Generator and Solar power 1.5 KW for the Laboratory that making it very difficult for any medical procedure followed and the use of resources or telecommunications.

Dalifage Hospital

The absence of water supply, despite the existence of a reservoir, making it is impossible to facilitate the operation of the healthcare Centre. Currently, the city is supplied by a Generator between 18h_00h
The Programme's objectives/goal is to supplying electricity and water to the Hospital independently and sufficiently

Our main partner in the electrification programme and supplying of water is the NGO ESF (Electricians without Borders), which brought us the technical knowledge and electrical equipment for carrying out the necessary work.

Water supplying

We set up a solar Pumping Station in the existing drill capable of delivering between 10 and 16m3 per day:

  • Solar Pump Power between 700 and 900W

  • A Solar field of 900 to 100Wp

  •  Column outlet and accessories

  • Supports Solar Panels inclined at 10 °

  • Closing protection pumping station

Column outlet and accessories

Installation of the Solar Pump

Preparation of module

Photovoltaic module facing due south-east

We have trained two technicians for maintenance of the Solar Power plant and the water system at the hospital:

  • We have also provided basic training in photovoltaic electricity for 5 people

  • Basic training on hydraulic equipment were given for 3 people

  •  Staffing simple electrical measurement equipment and power tools and plumbing established .

Rehabilitation of the Water network

Connecting two main Tanks

 Electrification of the Health Center

We have upgraded the power supply to the hospital:

  • Complete reconstruction of point network connection including an inverter

       manual sources

  • Connecting a generator of 30 KVA

  •  Complete control of power systems and the protection of persons

  •  Repair of electrical panels of the Health Center and offices

  • Given a good level of existing solar array for high-quality power

  •  Installation of Air Conditioners operating theatres

General Electric Board

30 kva Genrator connecting

And finally we have trained two technicians to maintain electricity at the hospital

  •  Basic Electricity

  •  Training in simple electrical measurements

  •  Practical training, such as wiring, control, troubleshooting systems on the Hospital site

  •  Equipment tools and equipment from the local maintenance of the hospital.

The installation consists of a perform General Electric Panel to the arrival of the
transmission line, with two circuit were damaged or broken, having a locking system for
failover source, which supplies the entire Hospital. Pose-phase circuit equipment of the
Healthcare Centre were broken and out of use. The electrical circuit apparent, the rest of the
system with the use of load shedding function of the inverter Sunny Island.

With regard to the water Network, producing a subterranean trench, with a Diameter
between drilling pipe 40 provided by the government and the Hospital tank (450m long).
Installation of a solar power 96 WP.
The average daily flow measured is 27m3 per day.

The main Tank

The tank was filled to the Hospital board all day; we dug a new section between the Hospital and the School to meet the    water needs of the Educational Institution and the Hospital and as well as local Communities.

Children of primary school which receive water (surplus tank hospital), for the happiness of hygiene.

This project was supported by the local authorities. The impact of this programme on the development of the activity of the Hospital was very important for caregivers and patients.
